Communication Coordinator

Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing Communication Coordinator will plan and implement Brand, Marketing and Communication strategy for Dikan. As the custodian of the Brand, you will help to define the strategy and actively look for opportunities to create and drive visibility and engagement for Dikan. You will promote the mission and vision of Dikan through advertisements, media, gallery sales, partnerships, and relationship marketing.

Duties

Strategy

·       With support from the Executive Team and others the Marketing Communication Coordinator will define the brand direction and strategy.

·       Work and co-ordinate tasks between external agencies.

·       Develop and implement a Communications strategy.

·       Produce annual workplans with clearly defined quarterly tasks and goals.

Brand and IEC materials including Outreach

·       Work with an external agency to develop Brand Guidelines and templates.

·       Supervise the design and production of IEC materials and merchandise for Dikan.

·       Develop Outreach plans and events to attract stakeholders to Dikan and other external events.   

Press and media

·       Lead on Public Relations and engagements including drafting press statements and circulating them.

·       Maintain a Media Database.

Digital

  • Develop and execute a digital communication strategy consisting of outstanding content for all digital platforms for integrated campaigns while measuring the effect on results and insights

  • Develop a plan for improved engagement and community building with users on various digital platforms, providing captivating content and outreach when appropriate.

  • Support the organization in developing digital efforts that promote the mission, including A/B or multivariate testing, search engine optimization, AdWords, visual storytelling, social media ads, etc.

  • Transform concepts, ideas, and needs into compelling and thought-provoking communications and marketing pieces for the organization’s social media, website, and email

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication and or Public Relations. A Masters degree is an is a plus. A minimum of six years of experience in advertising, communication, and marketing is required.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

This role requires constant communication. Thus, strong verbal and written communication skills are required. A Marketing Communications Coordinator should also be knowledgeable in marketing and Public Relations. You must be highly motivated, well organised, detail-oriented, creative and innovative, and possess good time management skills. You must also be analytical and be able to take initiative.
