Visual education is essential to Africa’s development

Library

Dikan Palace will the first library in Ghana that’s fully dedicated to photography, film, and visual archives. With a special focus on Africa, the library curates a collection photography books. It all started when our founder and director, a Ghanaian Paul Ninson, started buying photobooks while studying photography in New York. Additional books have since been donated by individuals, galleries, museums, publications, and other benevolent sponsors

Addition to being a cultural hub, our goal is to provide resources to the community that go beyond physical books. We are currently working on securing tablets, computers, and other tools to make our visual educational materials accessible online, onsite, and offline. The photo library will serve as a free resource that will provide logistic, pedagogical, and sustainable support to educational institutions across the continent

Thanks to the generosity of future partners, we look forward to growing the library to be a key educational and cultural resource for all Africans. We gladly welcome new donations of photography, film and media books, archives and other such material. If you would like to donate, please email info@dikancenter.org. Thank you!”
