In most African cultures, everything has a meaning and purpose. Dikan center was designed with that in mind, incorporating these principles; the Adinkra symbols, fabric, the shape, ornaments, etc. The building was designed to mirror is the Akrafokonmu. Akrafokonmu is a triangular ornament, special emblems of leadership worn by paramount Chiefs, rulers, and queen mothers in various parts of Ghana—for centuries, it has been an expression of royal status, bravery, tradtion, and trading power for the people.
